Program Application/Admission Requirements
The Western Washington University Full-Time MBA program invites applications from students who have completed a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited US college or university, or an equivalent degree from a foreign university, before the term in which they intend to begin their graduate studies. An undergraduate degree in a business-related field is not required.
Summary of Admission Requirements:
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0*
- Professional Resume documenting work experience and career history
- A Statement of Purpose document that addresses questions/prompts laid out in the application system
- Unofficial transcripts from every higher education institution attended for academic credit, including transfer credits or study abroad credits but not including credits taken during high school. Official transcripts will be requested if an admission offer is extended and must be provided before a student matriculates.
- One reference letter from a professional or academic source. Applicants may submit up to three of these letters if they so choose.
- Application fee of $100 upon submission of completed application.
*Provisional Pathway to Admission
If a student has a cumulative undergraduate GPA less than 3.0, they may still be eligible for admission, but they must submit the following additional materials in order to complete their application:
- Supplementary Essay: this should be added on as an addendum to the Statement of Purpose document and the applicant should address their prior academic experience, and any additional factors that the admissions team should review when considering them for provisional admission.
- Admissions Interview: schedule and engage in a remote or in-person interview with a member of the MBA Program Operations team or faculty group.
If a student is granted provisional admission, a faculty member or program administrator of the applicant’s intended graduate program must submit a statement of support for provisional admission to the graduate dean. If provisional admission is authorized by the Graduate School, the provisions are stated in the letter offering the student special admission to graduate study. Additional information about provisional admission is available in the Graduate School section of this catalog.
- International Applicants:
- English language proficiency: you must complete either the TOEFL or IELTS exam and satisfy the minimum score requirement to submit your application. The required scores are as follow: TOEFL (86iBT) and IELTS (7.0).
- Credential Evaluation by WES or Educational Perspectives
- Additional information for admitted international students is available on the graduate school website.
Admit Quarters: Annually in fall.
Deadline: Application deadline is May 1. International students are encouraged to submit applications by February 1 to ensure adequate time for admission decision and application for student visa.
