EXT 466 - Effective Communication Strategies in Emergency Management This course examines interpersonal dynamics of verbal and written communication in relation to the four phases of disaster management. The focus is directed at analyzing communication issues, listening effectively, understanding non-verbal communication, public speaking, and working with the media. In addition, tailoring communication styles to meet the needs of a particular audience, examining appropriate types of presentations, and the value of empathetic listening and effective feedback, will be emphasized.
Prerequisites & Notes: EXT 370, 371, 372; or instructor permission
