A/HI 411 - Contemporary Japanese Visual Culture Examines Japanese artistic forms and visual culture from Post-World War II until the present. Explores connections between Japanese socioeconomic and artistic developments, as well as visual manifestations of contemporary Japanese youth culture. Topics include anime, manga, Harajuku fashion and art movements such as Gutai and Superflat.
Prerequisites & Notes: Art History Majors: A/HI 271 and A/HI 375; non-majors: A/HI 271 and 5 credits of 300-level in art history or permission of instructor.
