SOCP 360 - Drugs and Society This course provides a foundation for understanding drugs and society. The course covers an overview of sociological perspectives of drug use and behavior, historical and current drug use trends, examines drug use in individuals and communities, considers societal responses including prohibition, treatment, criminalization, and prevention at local, organizational, institutional, and policy levels. Students will critically engage key controversial debates confronting U.S. citizens and policymakers.
