SOCP 305 - Program Evaluation and Research

A survey course designed to give students an introductory look at research and program evaluation. This course will use a practical approach to assess how various methods are used in different environments and for what purpose. Sample topics include evaluation vs research, quantitative methods to evaluate programs - such as survey design, qualitative methods for program evaluation - such as interviews and focus groups. Students will gain a greater understanding of how to gather meaningful data that can be used to enhance programs and apply for grants.
