SOCP 303 - Statistics for Nonprofit Management and Social Work Understanding statistics is necessary if you are to be a critical consumer of information, both for yourself and your client. Data analysis is used in everything from deciding whether someone can receive a loan to the kind of sentence one may receive when convicted of a crime. This course provides an understanding of basic statistics that is essential for social workers to be effective evidence-based practitioners and researchers. It provides the tools necessary to use data and knowledge to inform what you do – whether that is a high-level policy or the focus of an intervention with a single service user.
