UEPP 570 - Planning Studio I: Urban Design Methods This course is a comprehensive studio that applies previous classroom training in urban analysis. Students engage with the planning process through an exploration of planning methods, community engagement, and critical analysis. Various types of plans will be explored along with the processes that take place in their development. The course provides a broad overview of each topic in order for students to gain exposure to these planning techniques and develop effective strategies for inclusive methods that document the voice of communities and amplifies the voice of underrepresented communities in particular. Students will apply the skills and concepts gained through the course to the year-long Urban Transitions Studio (UTS) planning project. There will be an emphasis on participatory methods and urban design research methods.
