SOC 385 - Homelessness and Housing Policy This course is designed to introduce students to the sociological study of homelessness and housing policy in the United States. It is the intention of this course to provide a framework for seeking to understand the root causes of the expansion of homelessness in the U.S. during the last 30 years, to convey a sense of the experience of homelessness and its consequences, and to explore efforts to meet the immediate needs of the homeless as well as advocate for long term change which can prevent homelessness.
Prerequisites & Notes: Any one course from: SOC 221, SOC 234, SOC 251, SOC 255, SOC 260, SOC 268, SOC 269, SOC 271 or instructor permission Credits: 5 Grade Mode: Letter
