BIOL 406 - Fundamentals of Biological Oceanography Biological oceanography is the study of how organisms affect and are affected by the physics, chemistry, and geology of the oceanographic system. This course will provide a process-oriented view of marine pelagic ecosystems. Oceanographic processes covered in this course will include ocean circulation, biogeography, energetics, food webs, biogeochemical cycles, benthic-pelagic coupling, and plankton ecology.
Prerequisites & Notes: BIOL 325 or ESCI 325 or MACS 303; BIOL 340 or ESCI 340. Credits: 4 Grade Mode: Letter
