MUS 347 - Case Studies in Musicology II This course is the third in the musicology sequence, which is dedicated to a topical exploration of music history and culture through lecture, activity, and discussion-based frameworks. Students will engage in five units that each feature case studies on various genres of music, including Western European art music, global musicultures, and popular musics. Building upon our first set of case studies in MUS 346, class sessions and assessments will relate to five new topics of study in the field of musicology. As this is a writing-intensive course, students will also learn how to write about music through scaffolded lessons and assessments in each unit.
