MUS 346 - Case Studies in Musicology I This course is the second in the musicology sequence, which is dedicated to a topical exploration of music history and culture through lecture, activity, and discussion-based frameworks. Students will engage in five units that each feature case studies on various genres of music, including Western European art music, global musicultures, and popular musics. Building upon knowledge from MUS 345, class sessions and assessments will relate to common topics of study in the field of musicology. As this is a writing-intensive course, students will also learn how to write about music through scaffolded lessons and assessments in each unit.
