ESCI 309 - Grand Canyon Riparian Conservation Intermediate course for students interested in conservation, ecology, natural resource management, and recreation management. Emphasizes study of riparian habitats, riparian conservation, river management, Indigenous relationships, and recreational impacts. Field study sites will be accessed during a raft trip through Grand Canyon during winter break, preceded by orientation and planning meetings on campus. Establishing an inclusive group environment and expedition behavior will receive special emphasis. Dates contingent on National Park Service permit availability. Includes group transportation between WWU and Grand Canyon.
