MLE 535 - Secondary Methods for ELL/Bilingual Education An introduction to the theoretical and practical concerns in teaching English as an additional language/bilingual education to students in grades 6-12 with different levels of proficiency in English. Emphasis is on innovative approaches to the teaching of language and literacy within a communicative framework and academic register. Provides guidance in the evaluation, development, and use of creative materials, including media-based materials. Requires participation in guided interactions with language learners. Individual research and course presentation are expected of graduate students.
Prerequisites & Notes: MLE 532 or concurrent. Credits: 5 Grade Mode: Letter
