UEPP 539 - Applications in Urban Design This course provides students with applied and hands-on experience in urban design. The course adopts a studio format. Students in this course will apply principles and methods to investigate a project site, analyze its components, identify needs and assets, develop socio-spatial programs, and propose forms, uses, and activities that meet needs and aspirations of current and future users. Students will work in teams during part of the research and produce independently individual urban design solutions, scenarios, and projects. The course encourages utopian thinking and the development of “ideal” urban design solutions that are informed by political, economic, cultural, and spatial realities and desires.
Prerequisites & Notes: UEPP 529; or instructor permission. Credits: 4 Grade Mode: Letter
