SOC 347 - Gender and Development Applies a sociological perspective to gain a better understanding of the consequences of development policies on gender relations in the global South. Critically evaluates how development theory and practice address poverty, health, education, environment, population, domestic-unpaid and paid work. Examines the relationship between women from developed and developing countries in the context of globalization.
Prerequisites & Notes: Any course from: SOC 221, SOC 234, SOC 251, SOC 255, SOC 260, SOC 268, SOC 269, SOC 271, HNRS 252 or instructor permission. Credits: 5 Grade Mode: Letter
