SPED 469 - Professional Collaboration: Working with Families, Colleagues, and Community to Promote Student Success Provides candidates with knowledge and skills for developing and sustaining effective collaborative partnerships with other professionals, paraeducators, family members, and community members. Focus is on effective communication, problem solving, and cultural competencies for sustaining collaborative relationships within a diverse society. A major component of this course is the effective collaboration necessary for legally compliant and meaningful individualized education plans (IEP) for P-12 students with disabilities. Includes IEP writing and practice.
Prerequisites & Notes: Admission to a Special Education major or department permission. Credits: 5 Grade Mode: Letter
