PHIL 112 - Introduction to Philosophy: Ethics and the Good Life

Philosophy is the attempt to answer, through rational reflection, the most fundamental questions. In this introductory course, we will explore questions of ethics and morality. Questions addressed may include, among others: What makes an action right or wrong? How can we think productively about controversial issues like abortion, euthanasia, animal rights, immigration, etc.? Do cultural differences mean there is no objective truth about morality? What makes for a good or meaningful life? This course will equip you to think through such issues for yourself.
