PE 179 - Intermediate Sailing Course provides intermediate skills through the use of multiple designs of boats. Techniques for control and efficiency are examined as students learn to sail more complex and challenging boats. With more sophisticated boats and rig adjustments a more sophisticated understanding of the hydro and aerodynamic principles can be gained. S/U grading.
Prerequisites & Notes: Successful completion of a basic sailing skills test during the first class meeting. As skipper demonstrate basic boat handling skills by completing the following maneuvers: tack thru in not more than 90 degrees; gybe, ending on downwind course; docking in nose in position; person overboard recovery; verbally describe capsize recovery. Credits: 1 Grade Mode: S/U
