MUS 566 - Advanced Piano Pedagogy I


Principles of piano teaching at the beginner through intermediate/early advanced levels; this will include in-depth discussion on teaching rhythm, sound production, hand/body position, pedaling, technique, sight reading, memorizing, musicianship, artistry, as well as psychology, child, teenager, adult, ADHD, and other special circumstances, and developmental and learning theories as related to currently available piano pedagogy materials. Repeatable up to 6 credits including original course.

Prerequisites & Notes: Admitted into MMus Performance, piano pedagogy emphasis.
