A/HI 250 - African Visual Culture from Prehistory to Present An introduction to key issues and themes in African art from prehistory to present across the continent and in the diaspora. Case studies include brasscasting, sculpture, masquerade, textiles, and photography. Specifically, the course will explore how these traditions express various aspects of human experience, and how these traditions change over the course of history, including during colonial and after colonial rule.
