Music Minor

Introduction

Music minors build a custom path of coursework through three primary areas of inquiry: 1) understanding how music works from a theoretical perspective; 2) participating in practical music-making; 3) understanding how music is situated in time, place, and culture. Students direct the emphasis, pace, and precise makeup of their study while completing at least one course in each area and fulfilling the 24-credit minimum. The program’s flexibility and rigor create space for broad exploration and refined musicianship alongside a major in any discipline.
