WWU on the Peninsulas

Introduction
WWU on the Peninsulas offers tailored academic programs serving the Kitsap and Olympic Peninsula regions, including Jefferson, Clallam, Mason, and Kitsap counties. The goal is to enhance access to and improve the attainment of academic credentials in support of meeting the demand for the estimated two-thirds of all projected jobs in the State of Washington that will require a certificate or higher within the next decade. Undergraduate programs are designed to integrate with community college transfer pathways, facilitating access to 4-year degrees and living-wage employment opportunities in the region. Recognizing the diverse needs of individuals across a broad geographic area, WWU on the Peninsulas programming utilizes research-based educational practices that provide flexibility through face-to-face, hybrid, and online modalities.
Mission Statement
The mission of WWU on the Peninsulas is to empower individuals and communities across the Kitsap and Olympic Peninsulas through accessible, high-quality higher education. Through innovative programs and partnerships with Olympic College and Peninsula College, we are dedicated to providing diverse pathways to academic excellence and career success. By aligning our curriculum with the evolving needs of the region and prioritizing engagement with local industries, we aim to foster a culture of lifelong learning and economic vitality. With a commitment to equity, inclusivity, and community collaboration, we strive to cultivate leaders who will positively impact the social, cultural, and economic landscape of the Peninsulas and beyond.
Admission Process
- Completion of an approved pathway degree which may include one of the following from a Washington State Community College, or the equivalent of 90 transferrable quarter credits to achieve junior-level status upon admission:
- Associate of Arts - Direct Transfer Agreement
- Associate of Science, Transfer Track 2
- Applied Associate of Science- Transfer (for the Cybersecurity, BS)
- Ability to complete any outstanding General University Requirements with coursework offered from WWU
- Achieved a cumulative transfer GPA of 2.5 or higher, as outlined by each program
- Completed transfer application submitted. This application is completed at the same time as the WWU application for admission, even if Guaranteed Transfer Admission applies
