Introduction

This minor provides study in audio recording, editing, and production techniques as well as in the study of music and its role in our society as entertainment, as cultural representation, and as a tool for social and political critique and change.

Why Consider an Audio Technology, Music and Society Minor?

This minor is useful for students interested in directly engaging with the music, entertainment, and public arts sectors and those who have a passion for music and want to connect it to issues of cultural expressions and social justice.

How to Declare (Admission and Declaration Process):

Students seeking admission to the minor must first complete FAIR 270H - Introduction to Audio Recording  satisfactorily and should then contact the Fairhaven College office to declare the minor. Other elective coursework in this minor may be taken prior to declaration. This minor is open to all students that meet the prerequisite.

Grade Requirements

A grade of ‘S’ in Fairhaven courses or C- or better in courses in other departments is required for this minor.
