MUS 113 - Sightreading for Guitarists

A systematic introduction to reading pitch and rhythm in five-line staff notation on the guitar. Material encompasses melodic reading in simple and compound meter, all tonalities, and all positions of the fretboard. Students are expected to begin with the technical ability to play simple melodies, and are responsible for acquiring and bringing their own instrument to all class meetings. Repeatable to a maximum of 12 credits, including original course.
