ISE 365 - Simulation and Modeling

This course introduces the principles and applications of simulation and modeling techniques in Industrial Engineering. Students will learn to develop mathematical and computational models to analyze, design, and improve complex systems (such as systems in manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, and service industries). Topics include system modeling concepts, input data analysis, random number generation, discrete-event simulation, Monte Carlo methods, output analysis, and model validation and verification. Emphasis is placed on the use of simulation software to model real-world systems, conduct experiments, and interpret results for decision-making. Through hands-on projects, students will gain experience translating real operational challenges into simulation models, running experiments, and communicating results effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.

Prerequisites & Notes: ISE 310 or concurrent.
Credits: 4
Grade Mode: Letter
