SOC 462 - Advanced Community Engaged Research Methods This capstone course is designed to provide students with advanced instruction in community engaged research. Students will learn qualitative and/or quantitative research methods including survey research design, in-depth interviewing, focus groups, ethnography, and/or experiments. Student groups might partner with community organizations and develop and undertake a term long research project to benefit the community partners or conduct research that is designed to inform interventions to promote community well-being. Methodology will vary each quarter to meet research objectives. The course will cover instruction in research ethics, IRB processes, professionalization, community engagement, research design, methods, data analysis, and report development.
