WGSS 325 - Music, Gender, & Sexuality This course examines the relationships between music, gender, and sexuality across popular, traditional, and art music contexts. Through interdisciplinary study, with methods focused in women, gender, and sexuality studies in addition to those situated in the realm of musicology, students will explore these concepts as they are constituted by intersecting systems of power, such as race, ability, environment, nationality, and public health. We will explore these concepts through reading, writing, class discussions, individual and collaborative research, and audio/audiovisual analysis.
