NURS 432 - Population & Community Health Nursing This course introduces the principles and practices of population health and community-based nursing. Students explore the nurse’s role in promoting health, preventing disease, and protecting communities through partnership, assessment, and systems thinking. Emphasis is placed on epidemiology, social and environmental determinants of health, vulnerable populations, and health equity, as well as the ethical, legal, and policy foundations of public health. Students analyze how cultural, political, and systemic factors influence health across diverse populations and identify strategies to advance equitable and sustainable outcomes through interprofessional collaboration and advocacy.
