NURS 301 - Information Literacy & Healthcare Technology for Nursing Practice This course explores the intersection of nursing practice, information literacy, and healthcare technology. Building on existing clinical experiences, students will evaluate the impact of diverse and emerging healthcare technologies on patient safety, accessibility, security, quality of care, and ethical practice. Students will develop skills to select appropriate technologies to enhance interprofessional collaboration, nurse-patient relationships, and care coordination. The course emphasizes critical evaluation of scholarly, clinical, and popular sources, recognizing how authority is constructed and contextual when examining information. Students will build competence in assessing, generating, and communicating health information while developing strategies to promote health education and health literacy among diverse populations. Throughout, students will reflect on real-world applications from their professional experience, with attention to emerging technologies and their implications for future nursing practice.
