MACS 310 - Marine Science and Society


In this course, we will examine the role that marine scientists play in shaping the public’s understanding of complex scientific issues like global climate change, sustainability, pollution, and environmental justice. We will begin by developing a deeper understanding of scientific literacy and discussing the role that scientists play in cultivating science literacy within the general public. From there, we will explore concepts like experimental design, causal links, and equity and social justice in marine science.

Prerequisites & Notes: MACS 301 with concurrency.
