Introduction
The American Cultural Studies Minor provides students with an interdisciplinary approach to understanding issues of race, ethnicity, educational equity, settler colonialism, socio-economic class, gender and sexuality, and socio-cultural theories that analyze the structural underpinnings of subjective experiences and minoritization processes in the U.S.

How to Declare (Admission and Declaration Process):
To declare a minor in American Cultural Studies please submit a Student Academic Declaration and Change Form.
Once you fill out form with your information indicating the appropriate minor, route it to Midori Takagi, program advisor, by inserting her email (mtakagi@wwu.edu) at the bottom of the form and submitting it for approval.
Grade Requirements
A grade of C- or better is required for a student’s major or minor courses, and supporting courses for majors and minors.
