Introduction

The goal of the Certificate in Energy in the Built Environment is to give students knowledge and analytic skills in the science, technology and business aspects of energy systems, environmental quality and the energy efficiency resource in buildings.

Why Consider an Energy in the Built Environment Certificate?

Demand is increasing for a trained energy workforce in Washington in an emerging clean energy economy, including growing energy efficiency, grid modernization and energy storage industries in the state. Success in this growing field requires an understanding of the analytic tools applied to the science and technology of energy systems in buildings, their mechanical and environmental systems, as well as the economics and management aspects of the energy efficiency resource in buildings.
