ESTU 572 - Introduction to Place-Based Environmental Education Explores ways to teach about a place in the context of environmental education. Includes examination of fundamental concepts and skills of environmental education and review of the subject matters which are the content of place-based environmental education curricula. These include natural history and its interpretation and the cultural and social history of a place and its interpretation. Students will examine methods of acquiring knowledge comprising this subject matter.
Prerequisites & Notes: admission to MEd natural science/science education, environmental studies residency option or other master’s program in environmental education
