SPAN 210 - Intermediate Spanish as a Heritage Language Designed for heritage language learners who have not previously taken college-level Spanish courses — students who grew up with Spanish in their home and want to expand their communication skills in Spanish: speaking, listening comprehension, reading, and writing. Through critical, historical, and aesthetic approaches, students will gain insight into the ways people from diverse cultural backgrounds express personal experiences, societal norms, and shared histories. Activities such as storytelling, film analysis, and other forms of artistic expression will provide students with opportunities to engage with the language in meaningful, context-rich ways, providing a framework for understanding it within its cultural context.
