MUS 545 - Jazz Theory & Improvisation II

This course is a continuation of MUS 544. As such, we will continue to build the methods, tools and experience needed to continue to develop your own improvisational style and vocabulary while expanding those skills acquired in MUS 544. We will delve deeper into non-functional harmony, Coltrane changes, the modes of melodic minor and their corresponding scales. Practice and performance methods will be discussed and implemented. You will be required to play your instrument and sing in class.
