ENVS 334 - Extractivism in Latin America This course provides an introduction to extractivism in Latin America with a focus on developing a systemic understanding of extractive industries — fossil fuels, mining, industrial agriculture, and fishing — and their environmental, social, and economic impacts. Through a variety of sources, students will explore the historical context of natural resource exploitation in this region and its modern-day connections to global consumption patterns.
Prerequisites & Notes: ENVS 203 and ENVS 204; or instructor permission. Credits: 4 Grade Mode: Letter
