PHYS 301 - Professional Skills for Physical Scientists In this discussion seminar, students will be introduced to the degree paths within the Physics & Astronomy and Geology departments, and strategies for success in the Physics and Geophysics majors. Students will refine professional writing skills through weekly assignments, peer review and revision. By searching the scientific literature and discussing publications, students will be introduced to research papers and the peer review process. Students will also learn about opportunities to obtain teaching and work experience while at Western, areas of active research in the departments, and career paths that are enabled by a physical science degree.
