ENRG 352 - Climate Governance and Political Economy


This course provides an introduction to some of the key challenges global climate change poses on current systems of governance, and what is at stake if such challenges are not addressed. The overarching aim of the course is to give students an understanding of the nature of the problem, an overview of the policy instruments used to address climate change, the basic design of greenhouse gas compliance regimes, the challenges with implementation, and the importance of political economy in understanding historical and current choices made in policy response and instrument design. Also offered as ENVS 352.

Prerequisites & Notes: One course from: ENVS 204, MGMT 271, PLSC 250, or UEPP 261; or instructor permission.
