PHIL 115 - Introduction to Philosophy: Ethics and the Environment Philosophy is the attempt to answer, through rational reflection, the most fundamental questions. In this introductory course, we will explore ethical questions about the environment and our relationship to it. Questions addressed may include, among others: Is it morally right to eat animals? What should we do, if anything, about species and ecosystems that are endangered? Does the natural world have inherent value? Should we engage in climate activism? What do we owe, if anything, to the people who will live on Earth hundreds of years from now? This course will equip you to think through such issues for yourself.
