ENVS 444 - Geography, Colonialism, and the Pacific Northwest Colonialism is not merely a period of time but rather a set of patterns, processes and conditions which have shifted through time and space yet continue to be constitutive of the present. In this course, we will explore key geographical arrangements which have produced and perpetuated colonial structures, particularly in the Pacific Northwest region. Equally importantly, we will consider Indigenous peoples’ refusal of these structures and highlight enactments of de-colonized geographies. Also offered as C/AM 442.
