MACS 424 - Marine Fish Ecology


This course will teach the diversity of fishes in marine and estuarine habitats, their major modes of living, and their interactions with the environment. At the end of the course, students will be knowledgeable in topics related to the ecology of marine fishes and will comprehend the intersection of oceanography, ecology, and fisheries science through the lens of marine and estuarine fishes. There will be a mixture of classroom, laboratory, computer, and field learning and through these modalities students will gain skills commonly used in ecological research related to fishes and fisheries science.

Prerequisites & Notes: MACS 303 or ESCI 321; MACS 303 or BIOL 325 or ESCI 325; BIOL 340 or ESCI 340.
