ART 384 - Teaching in the Art Museum


This course explores a series of issues central to the work of teaching with art, including the layered interpretations of art objects, balancing viewer responses and “official” information, fostering visual literacy among students and museum visitors, culturally-responsive teaching with works of art, and the inclusion of non-discursive activities in museum teaching.

Prerequisites & Notes: Major status in Art Education, Art Studio or Art History, minor status in Museum Studies, or instructor permission.
