ART 378 - Introduction to Art Education A broad introduction to the various roles an art educator plays in the artistic lives of young people. For those interested in teaching art, in or out of schools, this course will develop knowledge and understanding of artistic development in childhood and adolescence (K-12), curriculum design and assessment, diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion in art education spaces, art education advocacy, and the intersection of material & process exploration, visual & cultural literacy, and personal meaning-making in diverse art education contexts.
Prerequisites & Notes: Major status in Art Education, Art Studio or Art History; instructor permission for non-majors; ART 280. Credits: 5 Grade Mode: Letter
