INTL 398 - Transnational Migration


An interdisciplinary exploration of contemporary transnational migration. Examines mixed root causes of migration, migrant securitization, the global refugee regime, humanitarian interventions, current migration topics, and lived migrant, refugee, and diaspora community experiences. Course weaves theory, research, ethnography, refugee memoir, and film. Students will identify intersecting patterns associated with the process and experience of migration. Course addresses questions of global social justice and human rights.

Prerequisites & Notes: INTL 201 or instructor permission.
