MATH 346 - Probability and Statistics for Electrical and Computer Engineering


This course provides an introduction to probabilistic and statistical reasoning. Topics include probability models, combinatorics, axioms of probability, conditional probability and Bayes’ Theorem, random variables, functions of random variables, expectation, variance, independence, correlation, hypothesis testing, and confidence intervals. Emphasis on relevance of topics to real-world electrical and computer engineering applications such as communications, networking, circuit analysis, and computer engineering. Please note: No more than one of MATH 341, MATH 345, and EECE/MATH 346 can be counted for credit. Also offered as EECE 346.

Prerequisites & Notes: MATH 204; MATH 224; EECE 310 or concurrent.
