COMM 365 - Nonviolent Social Change Students will study the evolving theory and practice of nonviolent social change in historical context. Emphasis will be placed on the central role of symbolic actions, issue framing, social movement learning and training, media coverage, social media use, and other communicative dimensions. Empirical evidence regarding the relative efficacy of nonviolent movements will also be examined, along with their ethical and philosophical underpinnings.
