A/HI 250 - Arts of Africa pre-1900 An introduction to key issues and themes in African art from prehistoric rock art to the implementation of colonial rule. Case studies include brasscasting, sculpture, masquerade, textiles, and photography. Specifically, the course will explore how these traditions express various aspects of human experience, and how these traditions change over the course of history.
