PSY 553 - Theories of Counseling

Orientation to counseling theories, including their history and development. Comparison of theories in terms of goals, processes, and methods. Examination of counseling research on evidence-based treatment protocols and common therapeutic factors. Consideration of the limitations of counseling theories, including implications for multiculturalism and social justice.
