Seminar in Middle East studies. Course themes may include, but are not limited to, a survey of the history and political economy of the Modern Middle East; the colonial past and present in the Middle East; Orientalism; US policy toward the Middle East; State-society Relations in the Middle East; and case studies of specific countries and conflicts.
