ART 381 - Identity Work in Art Education


Identity work becomes central to art-making for middle and high school students, and in this course, students will develop a deeper understanding of adolescent development within the context of the art classroom, including theories of adolescent artistic development and the alignment of curricula, lesson planning, and evaluation/assessment accordingly. Students will also explore their own identity as teachers and build a personal, self-reflective practice toward resilience prior to entering the classroom.

Prerequisites & Notes: Admission to Woodring College of Education; ART 378.
